Philippines has the highest logistics costs among ASEAN countries, according to the World Bank. It 18 times more costly to send a container from port to warehouse in Philippines than it does in Thailand, a country with similarly horrific traffic (but worse political problems).

Business groups widely cite logistics and transportation costs as a key obstacle holding back competitiveness in manufacturing and export industries. Another result is higher prices for all consumers since logistics costs are so outrageous — between 24% to 53% of wholesale prices in Philippines.
