The Carmelence Lodge Tagaytay – Review

We’ll never forget the first time we traveled out of town with our baby. We’ve come across The Carmelence Lodge’s Facebook page while searching for a place to stay in Tagaytay. We read good reviews from their previous guests and we thought that maybe we should give it a try since we also wanted to visit relatives in the South. The Carmelence Lodge is located at Villa Carmelence 3, Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Maharlika West, Tagaytay City (just beside Robinson’s Tagaytay).

We arrived at The Carmelence Lodge 15minutes before Check-in. Their staff seems too exhausted when we got there. It was a 30-minute wait before we got our room keys. Our room also came with free breakfast but the front desk staff forgot to ask us about it. They have don’t have a lot of breakfast options but you’re supposed to choose ahead of time so they can have it prepared and served to you according to your preference. We shrugged it off because maybe, she was just having a bad day or she woke up at the wrong side of the bed?  Who knows?

We love our room. It has a little kitchen, a decent toilet, and washroom. Their comforter and pillows are also awesome for a lodge – comparable to the ones used in hotels. The place was quiet and the staff was polite too.  Their food is also reasonably priced but I wish their brewed coffee was served hot. Overall, we had a great stay.

We booked our room via Agoda for only Php2,600/night.  For people who’d like to explore Tagaytay on a budget, we highly recommend this place.  It’s also near Sky Ranch if you’re planning on a side trip to the park. The internet signal strength is superb too. Perfect for people who are able to bring their work anywhere or those who need to be online all the time.

Come Home to Casa Alegria, Tagaytay

If you’re looking for a Bed and Breakfast in Tagaytay, Casa Alegria is the ideal spot. Not only that it has the perfect view of a picturesque volcano, but its very intimate and cozy vibe will just help you forget that you had a long and hectic work week.

The rooms are clean, modern and very comfortable with a nice sitting area and deck with a wonderful view of the Taal Volcano and the city skyline in the distance.

We are also impressed with how animal-friendly this place is. We love cats and seeing one who moves freely in a hotel/resort makes us happy.

Although this may not be the perfect place for commuters because of its location, they can accomodate a number of vehicles. Great venue for intimate weddings, honeymoons and family gatherings.
Unlike some overrated Bed and Breakfast in Tagaytay, Casa Alegria’s rooms are fairly priced. A swimming pool will also be available by July 2015.

Check out their room rates and book your next R&R!

January 11, 2014 marked the opening of Power of Three, the most anticipated annual festivity in the field of agriculture.
Power of Three is a floral, vegetable and agri-livestock fair.

We’re lucky to be invited to attend one of their offerings for the Vegetable Festival week last Saturday where we got to know the basics of farming and interact with animals at Paradizoo.
A parade of animals showcased different breeds of horses, pigs and cows. Gentle giants such as camels and ostriches also joined the party.

The highlight was our dairy goat experience…we never thought that milking a goat can be relaxing.

In the afternoon, we headed to Residence Inn which is about a 10 minute drive from Paradizoo. It is probably the most family friendly theme farm ever created. They have horse back riding, wall climbing, zip line and cable cars. You can also check-in at their hotel if you wish to spend more time with your family or friends.

Anyone who is seeking a slice of outback adventure will surely enjoy visiting Paradizoo and Residence Inn.

June Bride

Exhausted from our shift and the long drive from Manila to Batangas, we accidentally crashed a Wedding. When we saw this beautiful Church on top of a hill, we assumed that we already reached Callaruega Church. My fiancé, just like a paparazzi immediately flashed his Camera to the bride as she step down the bridal car towards the aisle. I was already skeptical that we came to the right place – I wasn’t wearing glasses or contact lenses so I couldn’t see clearly. When my fiancé showed the pictures that he took, my facial expression gave me away! 😀

We immediately hurried back to our car and laughed as we left.  As soon as we reached Callaruega, the Wedding Ceremony has ended.

We drove another 5 minutes to Ville Sommet, Tagaytay.

my date :P

The Newly Weds’ beautiful Engagement photos were perfectly placed outside their Wedding Venue for the guests to see. The table setting was simple yet elegant.  Appetizers and main dishes tastes as good as they look.

Everyone followed the dress code as requested by the couple which added more elegance to their special event (hmmmm…another wedding idea).

It was truly a Wedding to remember.

Happy 2nd Wedding Anniversary, Herbert and Verna!
