Casa de Dios: Review

Have you guys attended a reunion lately? Miguel and I did last December 28, 2016. It was our first time as a couple to host a family event and it was exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. We wanted a rustic themed reunion and it took us months to find the perfect venue.  Miguel came across Casa De Dios’ Facebook page. We were impressed with the photos and immediately had the venue pencil booked before we even had an ocular.

The owner, Nikko de Dios was very accommodating and patient.  I had to change the date of the event twice and didn’t even feel that he was upset. LOL! It wasn’t my intention to cause confusion, some family members just had some last minute requests that I had to consider.

Casa de Dios is located at 14 Cabrera Road, Brgy. Dolores, Taytay, Rizal. It’s about 30 minute drive from Ortigas Center. We booked the venue from 9:00 until midnight for only Php12,000.  The place is cozy and well maintained.  Ideal for intimate gatherings as it can only cater to 50 guests. Aside from the pool, they also have cabanas where you can dine or have some cocktail while chitchatting with your friends and loved ones. Their family room is big enough for 3 double beds. We took turns in taking naps that day. The balcony is not really child-friendly so, I suggest that  you keep your children off this area.

Everything at Casa de Dios is Instagram worthy. My photos doesn’t give this place much justice – you have to see it for yourself. I highly suggest this to people who are looking for a venue for their prenup photo shoot.

They have 3 parking slots so, I suggest car pooling. But if you really cannot avoid bringing your own car, you can safely park right across Casa de Dios ( outside the Memorial park ).

I am planning to hold a reunion with my High School friends and I am considering Casa de Dios for our venue.

Check out their Facebook page to stay updated with their promos and rates.

Acer brings #TooZesty party to Boracay

The summer heat is just getting hotter and the need to take a dip at the beach to cool things down a bit is just what most people need— chill under a shade on a powdery white sand beach while enjoying a cold drink, splash into the clear blue-green waters of the sea, and start to pump the evening up as the sun sets with some party beats at the beachfront. Acer, one of the world’s largest PC companies, is also #TooZesty and excited to bring the party to the best island destination – Boracay.

Known for breaking barriers between people and technology by offering innovative IT products and mobile devices, Acer brings in some fresh beats and tries to break the summer heat and quench everybody’s thirst for some cool and fun times. On April 22, Acer invited two world-class

DJs to get all the party people #TooZesty to raise their hands and pump their fists up in the air as they swing into the beats of Superstar DJ Romanova from Russia and DJ Callum David from Australia, happening in Station 2 at the Regency Hotel Beachfront where most of Boracay’s party crowd are enjoying the summer night life.

DJ Romanova will join the fun at the beach and will definitely bring a great atmosphere as the evening goes on deep with more people in the mood for partying. Her insanely charming and amicable style has already won the hearts of many passionate music followers and she is expected to do the same with the Filipino crowd. DJ Romanova has a dynamic style in mixing up music that allows her to captivate a variety of audiences, playing a wide range of pop, house, EDM, and deep house. Her impeccable attention to detail has allowed her to make fresh music for her audience as they fill the floor with more positive energy— this time to also drive the excessive heat of the weather.

Being one of the best female DJ in Moscow, DJ Romanova has scored a number of gigs in cities like Egypt, Bangkok, Jakarta, Cyprus, Morocco, Armenia, and Kazakhstan just to name a few.

Her DJ residency in Moscow includes Shishas Lounge Bar, Demarco, Posh Friends, and Shishas Sfernum Bar. And to top everything off, she is also a sound producer and a member of FIJI DJs Project in Russia.

Australian-born DJ Callum David, one of Manila’s top DJs— a regular in the metro’s hottest clubs, will take the front act as he pumps up the crowd and fill the floor with music and beats. A self-confessed party animal, DJ Callum’s style was crafted in Australia where he was exposed to a wide variety of dance music. And after traveling to Asia, DJ Callum’s passion drove him to share the musical influence he grew up with. He has performed in Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, and here in the Philippines, where he is now based.

Everyone is invited to join Acer and enjoy DJ Romanova and DJ Callum’s music, while getting #TooZesty in beating the summer heat in Boracay. Party with some sand between the toes and just let the cool sea water dry off from the clothes. Cool down, relax, and celebrate the first of summer at this party brought by Acer Philippines.

Look for #TooZesty to see who’s joining the Acer party. For more about Acer Philippines’ innovative products and other updates, go to www.acer.com.ph, follow Acer via Twitter (twitter.com/acerphils) or www.Facebook.com/AcerPH.

Asia Finance Summit In The Eyes Of A BPO Employee

As a BPO employee, I am concerned with the options that I have in case the  industry goes down.
Questions like “Where do we invest our hard-earned money?”, “Did we make the right investment(s)?” and “What options do we have when we decide to retire earlier than 60?” are when Miguel and I discuss our financial plans.

Recently, we made an investment and I was glad that it was part of the Philippine Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index, 2014 as presented by Undersecretary and Chief Economist, Gil Beltran.

One of the Speakers, Ms. Riena Pama, President of Sun Life Asset Management discussed how the lack of financial inclusion and literacy may tend to pyramiding. She said that Financial Literacy begins at home and made me realize that maybe, it’s something that was lacking in most Filipino household.

Most of the speakers if not all, mentioned BPO in their talk which somehow gave me a relief that I am still in the right industry at the right time.
One of my favorite speakers on the summit, Mr. Bansan Choa, Chairman and CEO of I Remit, said that “Industry should come from the Philippines” and discussed about how remittance played a big role in the lives of OFWs saying that in every dollar that they spent, their is a percentage that is given back to them. I also believe in what he said that should be considered as an investment – retirement homes or villages. Philippines landed the top 17 in the for the most desirable retirement destinations across the globe. That being said, this will open more doors for investors and more jobs for our fellow Filipinos.

Working overseas is not an option for me but yes, it may be the best decision other people made in their lives. But whatever industry we may be in, we must always take into consideration how our chosen industry will later lead us to financial freedom which I guess everyone in the working class is dreaming of.

Rejj Sibayan, Alaine Alejandrino, Rebecca Bustamante, Grace Nicolas, Lance Bucoy

with the Panel Moderator, Kim Bernardo

The summit was a learning experience for me. I could go on and on on with the many things that I have learned from this event. I am looking forward to attending more summits organized no other that the maid who made it, Ms. Rebecca Bustamante – Chalre and Tag Media.

Asia Finance Summit: Appraising the Future of Southeast Asia was held at Makati Diamond Residences last April 21, 2015.

Sunny Side Up Bazaar

Aside from going to different summer destinations, one of the most exciting activities this time of the year is shopping!
Last March 30, I was invited to attend a Blogger’s meet-up at Paprika, Bonifacio Global City. The event was organized by Curated Goodness Ph to promote their upcoming Bazaar, Sunny Side Up.

On April 11 and 12,the Rockwell Tent in Makati City will play host to the first
ever Sunny Side Up Bazaar – a weekend dedicated to showcasing the side of Metro Manila that breeds excitement and potential. The two days will feature a powerful collection of merchants offering a wide variety of products and edible treats, a host of interesting workshops, and a screening of the Philippines’ first ever surf film – Archipelago.

Composed of six individuals with expertise in the fields of events, marketing, media, sales, and public relations,Curated Goodness PH was formed with the intention to expose the Metro Manila public to the plethora of unique offerings that local businesses offer.

At the moment, the group is well underway in completing the collection of 80 booths, and the host of workshops that will be present on the weekend of April 11 and 12. So far, merchants range from apparel, footwear, accessories, arts and crafts, and specialty items, to food vendors that provide a wide variety of unique snacks, refreshments, and full meals. On top of the intriguing workshops lined up, a screening of the Philippines’ first ever surf film, Archipelago, will be held in the venue.

Juan Brew, which provides a craft beer brewing kit; Manila Sole, which recycles used tires to create stylish shoes; Current Swell, boasting premium locally-sourced coffee; Fledge Clothing,an expert in stylish men’s clothing and accessories; Lagu, an internationally acclaimed beach-friendly beach-blanket. These are just a few of the intriguing collection of brands that will be present for the Sunny Side Up Bazaar.

These are just two of my favorite items.
